Stop! Don't leave the planet just yet...(That was a deceptive title, I agree.)
As most of you know, "The Game" is my favourite David Fincher film. A magnificent creation of heightened realism and the Hitchcockian subversive thriller.
I got into DVDs because of rumors of the Criterion Collection finally releasing it on DVD (they had it on laserdisc).
Tired of all the speculation, I decided to contact one of the Criterion's bosses, Jon Turell, who was kind enough to clear things up for me:

Unfortunately, we have not been able to secure DVD rights to The Game As you know we had it on laserdisc, but no luck so far for DVD. We’ll keep trying.
