People respond to good product.
Billions on marketing will help initially, but the novelty wears off if the product is not, inherently, life changing.
I cannot (and will not) vouch for the
iPhone
yet. But Apple's
iPod
I continue to use, and can swear by. It is a truly revolutionary device; the way it helps us to manage and listen to music is unparalleled.
We don't have to hate Apple for being (commercially) successful.

If it were all in the script, why make the film?

Actually, he had pancreatic cancer back in 2004. He was successfully cured.

This has to be the first time I've ever read something like this which is not meant (as it usually is) for Bill Gates. So surprised I was, my iBrows shot right up into my forehead.

Sammy? Ozzy? O Brothers, Where Art Thou?
Well...read about eons ago. I thought everyone knew about it by now? Anyways, people I know are either going for a Blackberry or an iPhone (whenever it gets released) as they're sick of Nokie, SE, etc.
However, it's VERY similar to the HTC Touch.
Agree with the Captain tho.

Because most people are using crappy ones in the US!
In 5 years, Iphone will release a phone which would allow video call and everyone would be "OMG!!!!" while we in the UAE can already do it at 0.70 fils/minute on most compatible phones. (me and my friends already started it just for kicks)

Sorta like why none of the iPods have an FM tuner, when almost every brand, however unknown, supports it.

The reason iPod doesn’t have an FM tuner is encourage people to listen to MUSIC purchased, preferably, through their Apple store. Although it would be nice to be able to have radio, Apple invented the Podcasts for the explicit purpose of allowing people to CHOOSE the radio broadcast they like and subscribe to it. Other brands do not offer a consolidated resource or at the same convenience.
For the record, I am not an Apple apologist or one of their diehard supporters. But Apple knows what the consumers *needs* and improves its products based on that. They do not load their devices with all the bells and whistles that people may not even use. Apple is also about SIMPLICITY and MINIMALISM, a foreign concept especially in low-culture Asian and Middle Eastern consumer markets.

Dont worry, Apple had already infringed on Creative's patent, and had to pay $100 million to Creative.
