I bought a Nokia N8, and I regret it. It is a beautiful piece of hardware, excellent design, HDMI support, 12 mb camera, all that jazz, but the software is worthless and I feel extremely jealous knowing how much apps are available for Android and iphone and only worthless shit on Nokia's Symbian OS.
I was contemplating getting an iphone but its extremely boring design (looks the same as iphone 1) and there is nothing unique in having an iphone, I like a bit of diversity from the flock in my purchases. But at the same time, there is no real winner android phone. There are lots of decent ones around, but there is nothing which you can go, I Want This!
I wish you could change the OS on your phones.

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting."

there will not be...i'm glad you finally reached this conclusion that there isn't a proper Android smartphone out there.
i think i mentioned this before but i'll say it again...i'm so shocked and surprised Apple is the only company on the planet which cares about the design of its products.

Whether we like it or not, iPhone is really the way to go, for as Mad says, everyone is making everything for the iPhone and that is a big draw for me. Every site I frequently go to has an iPhone app for something or the other, its very tempting and I will given in soon I think. Also, till Android standardizes its OS on the phones to a certain version, I will stay away from it (right now there are like a billion different versions out there...try downloading an app for that!). Open source, in my opinion, has never worked for anyone except geeks.

rumor has it the iPhone 5 will have Aluminum backing like the iPad and the first iPhone....it's great if true because that;s what i asked for when the iPhone 4 came out.
Aluminum on Apple products is just sexy..
