By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

I don't want to jinx it, but I am working on a sweet deal, and if it worked out, your jaw will drop.

OK, I will partially satisfy your curiosity. I am working on buying iPhone 4 32G Factory Unlocked for a very very very good price, and I am being modest here.

You are probably right. It is true that when you suspect that something is too good to be true, it usually is!

never go for these psychos!

do you know what's funny? prior to the release of the iPhone 4 i was so excited that i kept on searching if it will be available on other countries unlocked because i don't wanna buy it from the shit black market ppl over here,to my surprise it was unlocked in the UK.

however, the same period it was released in the UK was waiting for my visa to go to London and i thought i better get it from there instead, when i got there they took my reservation by iPad,there was 9000 on the waiting list.

since i have been a big customer of Shop & Ship service for many years, i always knew when you order stuff online from UK based online stores you get your order processed even if you add the UK address as your billing address.

after the announcement that the UK iPhone 4 will be unlocked i knew many ppl will at least try to order it from the UK Apple website i just didn't expect the whole thing to hit mainstream and ppl actually start subscribing to Shop & Ship services just so they can order the iPhone and to my surprise many have never ordered anything online, what a bunch of losers! head to adslagte.com forum to read how thousands of ppl are ordering tons of iPhones everyday from the UK website.

as of today,it's been exactly 3 months since the launch of the iPhone 4 and the status on the website still says "3 weeks".Apple need to get itself together when it comes to shortage.i know they are creating shortage to inflate demand but they deny it too!

next year Apple needs to release the iPhone simultaneously everywhere with big quantities.

Steve Jobs slams Google.

Quote
Google's fragmented Android

"What about Google? Eric Schmidt said they're activating 200,000 devices per day and 90,000 apps in their store. Apple activating 275,000 iOS devices a day on average for the last 30 days with a peak of 300,000 per day on some of those. There's 300,000 apps on App Store.

"Unfortunately there's no solid data on how many Android phones are shipped each quarter. We hope manufacturers will start reporting it, but it's not the case now.

"We await to see if iPhone or Android was the winner in most recent quarter. Google loves to characterize Android as open and iPhone as closed. We see this disingenuous and clouding the difference.

"The first thing we think of when we hear open is Windows, which is available on a lot of devices. Unlike Windows, where PCs have the same interface, Android is very fragmented. HTC and Motorola install proprietary user interfaces to differentiate themselves.  The user left to figure it out.

"Compare this to iPhone where every handset works the same. Twitter client TwitterDeck [sic] recently launched their Android app, and had to contend with 100 different versions of software on 244 different handsets.  That's a daunting challenge.

"Many Android apps work only on selected handsets, or selected Android versions. This is for handsets that shipped 12 months ago.  Compare with iPhone, where are two versions to test against, the current and most recent predecessor."

Android stores fragmenting

"There will be at least four app stores on Android which customers must search among to find the app they want and developers will have to work with. This will be a mess for users and developers. Contrast this with Apple's integrated app store. Has three times as many apps and offers developers one-stop shopping and get paid swiftly.

"Even if Google was right and the real issue was closed vs open, it's worth remembering open doesn't always win. Look at PlaysForSure. Even Microsoft finally abandoned this open strategy in favor of copying Apple's integrated approach with the Zune, leaving their OEMs empty-handed.

"In reality we think the open vs closed argument is just a smokescreen to try and hide the real issue which is: what's best for the customer, fragmented or integrated? We think Android is very fragmented and becoming more fragmented by the day. We prefer integrated so the user doesn't have to be the systems integrator.

"We think this is a huge strength of our approach vs Google's.  We think integrated will trump fragmented every time.  We think developers will be more innovative by focusing on one handset, rather than testing against a lot of hardware.  No matter how many times Google tries to characterize it as closed, we are confident iPhone will triumph."

The 7-inch ePad costs AED 300 to AED 350, is powered by Android again, and is extremely laggy, thanks to the 128 MB RAM. It also looks like crap too, wouldn't expect anything less from Dragon/China Mart.

Jobs is right. As much as I like the idea of an open architecture, open framework OS, for the common consumer it doesn't work. I've given up on the idea of ever owning an Android phone because of how many different types there are. Apple is simple and easy to figure out (but never dumbed down). Google really doesn't know how to sell their product to the end user, though they get the community (mostly IT geeks) excited from time to time. This is sad because I was really hoping that Android would be the next big thing, and it still might, but as a consumer my choices are actually more limited than they were a few years ago - Apple, Android or Windows. Symbian and Palm have pretty much lost the race.
