I love Scott Frank's clever, controlled screenplays. Been keeping track of his debut film for a while…looks like they’re finally coming out with trailer and posters.

Also interested to see Jeff Daniels in another movie; he surely must be one of the greatest, underrated actors of his generation. Another great young actor here -- our homeboy Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who I’ve always believed is the new James Dean.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is known for playing off beat non commercial roles, movies like Mysterious Skin and Brick. I have yet to see him in a summer popcorn blockbuster as this guy can clearly carry a movie.

The Lookout is sort of like Memento and Heist. The lead character after suffering a car accident has serious psychiatric problems and he has to write everything down in order to remember it later.

This is not an action movie, the pace is slow, but does not drag. THe film takes its time to develop the characters and then the actual story gets going.

The movie is a subtle thriller that builds and escalates, with a great script and very solid acting from JGL, Jeff Daniels and Matthew Goode.

Scott Frank proves that not only can he write well but he can direct well too.

I keenly await for his next direction.

I very much agree with the comparison, he is indeed an exceptional actor. The Personal Quotes section of his IMDb bio page says a lot about the kind of individual he is, personally and professionally. His views and opinions remind me of Edward Norton.

And yes... Jeff Daniels. Thumbs Up
