Oh man, these JC Penny Oscar ads are very good.

It has a beautiful song by a 60s band (Zombies!), and its really charming. Also, watch it again, and this time pay attention to the background people.

It's a very well-made, clever commercial. There are only two shots I didn't get, I can't put on finger on it; these are bothering me (the first shot of the woman and the guy holding the stereo). I figured out the rest of the movie homages.

May be others can start listing the ones they got here...

By the way, don't look at the comments on the YouTube page. Not all of them are right (stupid contemporary movies), but they do spoil half of the fun of guessing.

By the way, Mad, that second video you posted...I'm sure that entire sequence is based on a similar brilliant and magical and romantic scene in "The Fisher King," Gilliam's best film after "12 Monkeys."

Infact, that's my recommendation of the week. Go watch "The Fisher King" immediately.

Cheers, Kaytee.

Anyone cracked the *first* shot of the woman looking into the shop window?

What about the other homages?
