If someone complains that this site hosts p0rn, yeah, it is possible. EtiSlut doesn't need an excuse either way.

We've had the registration process simplified and posting privileges open to Guest members for over a week now. We haven't had any real/new people posting, so may be we should go back to strict members-only status? Let me know, guys.

I haven't noticed much spam from guest posts - it's mainly the simple registration that has generated the spam threads.

I suggest make the registration as it was - with the alpha-numeric code. But leave it open for guests to post messages too...

Is it possible to make it such that guests can only post replies and not start new threads?

Did one of you Mods delete all the inactive/bot accounts from the Total Members list? The number just went down from 300+ to 75.

If yes, I want to say GOOD JOB!

I've disabled Guest users being able to *open new threads* but they can reply to existing topics. I'm also looking for a fix to Registration verification image problem in Firefox.

Here's a suggestion, new users can only create threads after 5 posts or so, hence discouraging spammers. It works well on another forum I'm a member of.

Yes - that was me. I deleted manyl accounts that showed "Never" for last log-in info, and some that showed suspect email addresses... Some house cleaning!

Excellent. Should be good enough about the new threads.

About that verification image - it's an issue with IE too. It was brought to my notice by someone who couldn't register using IE. I tried both myself before using the audio option.

Yeah, I suspect it's an issue with the customized theme I'm using. Will keep you guys posted.

can you just post a default RSS link? the browser doesn't even seem to pick up the rss feed for the site.

Sure. As soon as I've placed the default RSS feed, I'll post here and let you know. Thanks for your interest!

I couldn't find the link if you've posted it, so here it is:
http://wearethemovies.com/forum/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml

I've added it to my GoogleDesktop, and I love the way it updates whenever there's a new post. I'm loving it!

AK, is it possible to make hyperlink text to be underlined, in a different font or a more contrasting color (Blue?)

I can't seem to figure out the text that's hyperlinked vs the normal text unless from context or without a mouse-over:

Normal
Hyperlinked
Underline
Blue
Font-change

Yes, that is possible by tweaking the CSS of the WM Forum code. I can do it myself. Good observation, by the way.

If you have any more suggestions on the look and feel of the WM Forum (font, size, layout) feel free to comment on it in the appropriate thread in The Bunker.

It's the weekend, and as promised, I am working on the plan-of-action for WM site and Forum today. You'll be hearing from me shortly.

Just make it underlined, not blue. I like the color scheme, blue would be way out of place

Blue was just an example. It could be any other color, something not so close to black.
Personally, I prefer the different font.

Suggestion: can we stop adding director's name on the title.it's so pretentious i think.i think we should add it if let's say we want to differentiate between let's say Cronenberg's crash and Paul's Crash.although i think the year on the title is enough.but i don't see what's the benefit of adding "Ortega" next to "High School Musical 3".

just a suggestion. Smiley

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Dude pls just stick to the format on the forum, we are adding directors last name to differentiate movies with same name and adding it to every movie gives consistency to the forum. Dont want it to look weird with one post showing the name of the director and the other does not.
