“Matt Farrell: What're you gonna do?
John McClane: I'm gonna go kill this guy and get my daughter. Or go get my daughter and kill this guy. Or kill all of 'em!The Die Hard franchise should be paired. One and Two are most alike, and Three and Four are the other pair, as the fourth installment concentrates more on being like the third one, rather than the first. Again, McClane has a sidekick, he is an active cop that is part of the assignment (rather than the first two where he was in the wrong place at the wrong time), and the movie concentrates more on comedy and unbelievable and insane action.
Thankfully, unlike the second Die Hard, this time, by copying the previous one, it does not fail. It is a fantastic follow-up that feels fresh. The only minor drawback is that, unlike the first three, this one is PG, but the movie is done so well, that we keep forgetting that.
It seems every five years or so, Bruce Willis comes with a new Die Hard, kicks every other action movie’s ass, and leaves. This is easily the best action movie of 2007, and I look forward to future Die Hards.
