By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

I thought you took time out to read my review.

I read it but remember you mentioning it. I have a very short term memory.

Today someone in the office proudly announced: "Man, there are only two movies I want to see this year. Then I can die."

I waited with bated breath: names like "Zodiac" racing through my mind.

He continued: "Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Transformers."

I’ve started avoiding him now.

More likely to be the two movies I would die of seeing this year...

Hey, I would fit in that category too! Not that I would die happy after watching them (for that, I await next year's #1 movie), but I am really looking forward to both these movies - especially after the early word on POTC:AWE and the International fucking awesome Trailer of Transformers.

ak, you can start avoiding me too now.

I probably will. I like to put myself in situations of dire uncertainty.

While Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a long movie (2 hours and 47 minutes), you should stick around a bit longer until the credits are over. The extra scene you'll get to see is not just a quick clip or joke but actually a part of the overall story.

Anyone seen this?

Won't be seeing it (ever), though I am curious to know what you bleeding fans thought of it.

Yup, saw it. Liked, didn't love it though.

The movie starts and continues in a pretty complex "matrix-sequel" way until about two-thirds in, when the action really starts taking ground. The last act is loads fun: swashbuckling, quirky anecdotes, heroic valor et al. Nothing new in this movie though - it's just a continuing tradition of Dead Man's Chest. The movie will definitely work for fans of the first two, and mostly not for anyone else.

I wouldn't rate it less than (or more than) 2.5 of 5 though.
