"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Anything by Crowded house or featuring the excellent guitar work of Mark Knopfler in Dire Straits Smiley

If I had my way, I would just ban every piece of music from the 80s, and probably just blacklist it from history, so that in 200 years, music would jump from 1979 to 1990 and students would call it, "The Dark Age of History", where people would talk about it hushed whispers.

Hahaha!! I just love how madali manages to sabotage an entire thread with comments like these. No one has posted since December 2006.

Seriously though, mad, I think you're too hard on the 80's. Yes, it was the decade of extreme kitsch, but one has to be a real sourgrapes cynic to not acknowledge the fact that it was the same decade that produced masterpieces like Prince's "Sign 'o' the Times", U2's "Joshua Tree", Peter Gabriel's "So" and GnR's "Appetite for Destruction".
