Yorke’s trademark melancholy haunts his debut solo album which was “made with the blessing of Radiohead.” Themes of isolation and urban distrust bring the band’s well-known edge while Yorke’s experimental bedroom-computer-software mixing of electronic beats and dry vocals creates a fresh, modern sound. The key track has to be “Analyse,” a piano-laden melody about us being drones in an automaton life we do not question. Other choices include the trippy, angst-ridden “Black Swan” where Yorke’s mutters “it’s fucked up fucked up” at least a dozen times as well as the title track “The Eraser” which is a suitable opener and sets the mood of things to follow. Fans of Radiohead should be pleased with what is band frontman Thom Yorke’s interesting personal exploration of familiar themes and the clever sound engineering.

i love this album! my favorite track is "Analyse" and iam surprised that no one compared the use of the piano in "Analyse" to "Right Where It Belongs" by NIN.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
