Finished it yday, beautiful comic. Similar to the Sin City trailer, where every second clip was a frame from the comic, the trailer picks up the best elements/frames from the book. Coolio.

*modified to add the REAL cover*

Exclusive: Frank Miller Readies Batman Vs. Osama and Sin City 2
Both projects nearly ready to go.

November 13, 2006 - Comics legend Frank Miller was in New York today to participate in a Q&A for Warner Bros.' upcoming 300, an adaptation of his Dark Horse comic book (click here to read more about that project). IGN Movies caught up with Miller — ran down the hallway with him, actually, as he exited the event — to briefly discuss a couple of his upcoming projects.

The writer-artist informed us that he has not quite finished work on his much-anticipated Batman Vs. Osama bin Laden graphic novel, which was first announced almost a year ago. The bat-light at the end of the tunnel can now be seen for the project, however.

"I've got about 50 pages left to draw," says Miller. "It's a 200-page book, and mostly I've been tied up with the movie stuff which is much more deadline sensitive. But when I get a break, I jump back in on it."

Miller explains that even though the project is being completed in fits and starts, it won't affect the artwork of the book "because the story determines the look more than the breaks factor."

As to whether or not the story will take place in the "real world," Miller responds that, "It's going to be based in Gotham City. It'll be Batman versus al Qaeda." So will Bats go mano a mano against Osama himself? "Oh, I can't say…" teases the author.

Meanwhile, on the movie front Miller has a couple of other projects on the table beyond 300.

"We might be shooting [Sin City 2] as soon as this spring. Either that or The Spirit is my next project," he says, while adding that he will co-direct the Sin City sequel with Robert Rodriguez as he did the first film. He also says that rumors implying that the filmmakers are waiting for a certain high-profile actress' schedule (Angelina Jolie's, perhaps?) to clear up before getting started are greatly exaggerated.

"No, it's just that there's a million puzzle pieces that need to be put in place," he laughs. "Mostly it's that [Robert] needs to finish Grindhouse right now. And then we're gonna get rocking. It'll be A Dame to Kill For and several short stories. The script is ready, so we're up and running."

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

No review?

I did manage to get the hard-cover wide-format edition myself too (from Mumbai!). Read it twice, immediately then, and once recently. Apart from the splendid artwork, the book achieves nothing. The story, like the movie, is a two-pager. Yet the expanse of the visuals and the way the action is depicted is singular. Frank Miller's 300 is to comics exactly what Zack Snyder's 300 is to movies - groundbreaking treatment.

If you can't convince them, confuse them.
