Ma Mere (2004)

Based on a subversive book, there is no middle ground with this film. I didn't hate it outright but felt the taboo subject (Odiepus complex) was stretched out with heavyhanded and indulgent direction. The film falls into a never-ending hole of depravity (and may be that's the point). Cheap European exploitation or high-brow art? ak

I do have ratings, but hope to to use them on full reviews. Honestly, I'm trying to avoid using rating unless absolutely necessary - they can be misleading, sometimes at odds with the essence of your words.
