Life's Too Short [Season 01] (BBC 2, 2011)

I don’t get it. I loved all of Gervais and Merchant’s earlier works. When Gervais starred in “Ghost Town”, and it sucked, I excused him saying, well, he just acted in it. When he made “The Invention of Lying”, and that sucked, I thought, well, Stephen Merchant didn’t help him, so the comedy duo wasn’t complete to complement each other.

And the suckiness didn’t stop then. It was like they were slowly trying to remove all of the excuses I made for them. They then made “Cemetery Junction”, and when I did not like that one, I was struggling. I almost run out of excuses for them, but I didn’t give up, Ricky and Steve, were used to TV shows, not movies! So it was okay, if their film was not good.

Finally, we come to “Life is Too Short”. A TV comedy show, made by the comedy duo, no excuses left.

It still sucked.

After “The Office” and “Ëxtras”, I did not expect a show to be this bad. “Life is Too Short” is a mixture of “The Office” and “Ëxtras”, so repetitive and so stale that Gervais and Merchant should be ashamed of himself. If it was original and bad, I could have disliked it purely for being bad, but “Life Is Too Short” is such a lazy work, that I really have lost a lot of respect for the duo.

Shame on you, boys. Shaaaame.
