I have been facing this problem for the last a few weeks and I hope you guys can give me a satisfying answer. My Yahoo account has been messing with me lately, and since last month emails from my account for a chunk of several days at a time has been disappearing inexplicably. This happened for at least two times, and the reason I don't notice them when they first went missing is because I organize my emails in folders and I don't check the folders until I need to. I contacted Yahoo help but they did not gave me a reason why would that happen. The customer service rep suggested my email might have been compromised and while that was a concern and I reported it to their security team, I don't see why would anyone go to my inbox to delete emails of a certain period of a few days and not the whole damn thing. So did any of you experienced such a thing before? And can you think of a reason why would that happen to me?

One more info, and I don't know if it would help. My emails are connected to both my BB and iPad, but I have been using those fore months now and never has been a problem before.

Nope, never faced anything like this. Any new software updates to your BB or iPad that may have triggered this?

good luck dealing with Yahoo help! i'm having so much problems with them too as one of my emails keep bouncing for no reason....plus the new Yahoo interface is beyond horrible...most of the time i can't even see thumbnails for the attachments.

Yahoo! and Hotmail are two of the worst email services ever, they work as if it's still 1998 and they didn't improve much over the years.it's sad because most of us have been using Yahoo and Hotmail for over a decade now and you can't just change your email after all these years....

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

I know it can be difficult switching emails, because you entire contact list has gotten used to that one email address bearing your name/alias.

But if one day you decide: fuck it, I am going to send an announcement out to all my friends and say, "Hey, guys, new email! New me. Update your address book"...that's really all it takes!

(Obviously: set up an auto-forwarder on the old email address and within a month, all the stragglers will have switched to your new email after they realize you are only responding from the new email.)

Lastly: it's a fresh start. And it can be exciting. We need to excite ourselves, on a day-to-day basis, because life can be terrible and dull. And imagine all that spam you will be leaving behind!!!

Nothing whatsoever. It's really puzzling.

Thanks guys for the advise. I know I should do something about it, and I already have a gmail account, it's just that I am used to yahoo, and everyone I know has it. Plus all my banking, services, work stuff are connected to it. So it will need a lot of work, and I am fucking lazy and lack motivation. May be that incident will be it. I hate the new interface of Yahoo just like the Dude said, all the more reason to begin the process of switching. I will see what I am gonna do about it.

You have all the answers you need here (but you just wanted someone to tell that to you!). Yahoo and Hotmail are absolutely terrible mail services....gmail is your salvation. The process of de-linking and relinking all your accounts will be tough, but not impossible, plus you will be moving them to the best web mail service available today.

Actually up until these incidents and for more than 10 year, I have been very satisfied with Yahoo. The good news is I have the same email alias in both Yahoo and gmail, so switching won't be such a bitch. I actually use it but not as much. I also have a hotmail account, not ayaa1977 though, but I dislike hotmail service and rarely use it. But I should start phasing all my emails out in favor if my gmail since you guys are singing it's high praises this much.

I recommend you edit your above post to not show your complete email that can be easily copy/pasted. It is easy for bots to pick it for spanning right now.

For privacy reasons, I recommend removing your email altogether from your public posting! (We know how to reach you!).
