If it were all in the script, why make the film?

Most welcome. This is one of those trailers where I have downloaded the 1080p, then watched it frame-by-frame on Quicktime (and played the music of the trailer off my mobile).
It is refreshing to have this this teaser with no lines of dialog at all, the visuals and music are arresting enough.
Inception
and
Dragon Tattoo
's teasers also had this in common.

Btw, the video above is a promo as a *backstory* or something to the movie - viral marketing stuff. It wasn't directed by
Ridley Scott
, but by his son
Luke Scott
.

That looks like the site of the original Space Jockey.

Thanks for the wallpaper. I just hope the movie isn't in 3D.

You always have a choice to boycott the 3D version of a movie.

I hope I'm given a choice, unlike what happened to Star Wars Ep1.

Well, for what it's worth:
1) The movie is being *shot* in 3D. It is not a post-conversion like
John Carter
or
Thor
or
Avengers
.
2) The production included shooting under *bright lights* to compensate for the darkness that the 3D glasses bring. (The movie won't be daylight bright, but the glasses will be compensated for where the movie is shown in 3D.
3) Unlike lesser directors, this is by
Ridley Scott
, who apart from being a master director (is/was up for debate) is known to be technically sound. So expect the 3D to be a part of the equation when the movie is being made.
So basically, once the movie is release, wait to see what people say - 3D or 2D. Don't dismiss it beforehand -- even if I say so myself, considering I dislike 3D.

You're right, 3D or 2D, I'll definitely watch this one. Even if it means going solo.

The new trailer will be officially out later today. Here's a low-res version of it by TrailersAddict.
<<Removed. Read the 2nd post below>>
It looks SPLENDID.

Oh hmm.. Apparently this is a teaser of the trailer, that was taken from the official site. The official site put it up as a (sort of) count down to the full trailer.
So well, removed the link to the video as it serves no real purpose.
