TEJA mein hoon, Mark idhar hai !!

« on: May 24, 2011, 11:05:AM »

Synopsis - A land baron tries to re-connect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a boating accident.

Alexander Payne has never got it wrong and hopefully this time it stays the same.

i hated this movie with passion.

why is it every year we have this movie about a father who suddenly realizes he has kids he should raise? and why should i sympathize with someone like that? i'm supposed to sympathize with someone who can't grow up? i wish if i can tell u i felt a little something for him or any of the creepy characters in this movie...but i didn't.It's a load of cliches for the Academy awards to wank over....i dare anyone here to watch this crap and think this was done by the guy who made a masterpiece like "Sideways"....at least The Wrestler had Marisa Tomei in it.

and wait! the academy nominated this for 5 categories, including "Achievement in Directing" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?1!!?1/!?!

For a change, I agree with almost all of what the dude says. More details when I can write about it but this is essentially a sobfest melodrama for women.

I'm not ashamed to admit it: I walked out of this film in its third act.

THE DESCENDANTS is not terribly bad. It's something much worse: it's terribly mediocre.

(This was in my Most Overrated Films of 2012 list; but then I saw SHAME, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN and MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, so it got bumped!).

Oh my my. That's unanimity among those that have watched it.

So you all disliked the movie, what about Clooney's performance? Winning performance in a lost cause? Will it be worth the price of admission?

I hated his performance, he had that smirk on his face constantly and thought he would crack a joke any minute. There are a few scenes where he stands out, i would say this one is to seen on KFF if you really wanna see it.

i never want to watch a movie where Clooney runs and cries.he had white hair, and when the camera is on his face, he gives this Academy Awards i'm gonna cry look.

Ha ha, hilarious stuff!

I think the WM Forum (so far; who knows when one of our members will spoil our perfect 100% Hate Score for THE DESCENDANTS -- may be it will be Mad!) is the only rational place in the world to discuss this film.

I was joking Shariq, lighten up buddy! When it comes to Payne, I guess he is just not my cup of tea. While I really like Election, unlike you guys I did not think that Sideways is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I really dislike About Schmit. I thought the pilot he directed for Hung was just an OK introduction to a series devolved to a mediocre TV.  So you would probably end up with a perfect score when I finally watch it, unless Mad came brought a different opinion to the table.

Has to go down as one of the silliest endings in history...talk about making an obvious point by way of cliche.
