I miss Hrishikesh Mukherjee cinema, stories of real life people who have a tough life and still manage to get by. His stories were never grand melodramas, they were more touching about middle class people and their lives. Habib Faisal manages to recreate that same feel with Do Dooni Chaar.

A middle class family who aspires to own a car so that they can keep up with their neighbors and distant family. The father of the household is the sole bread earner played earnestly by veteran Rishi Kapoor and costar real life wife Neetu Kapoor who has come back to the big screen after a long hiatus. They both pull off such a credible and lovable performance that you empathize with the family even though you know that all will end well.

This is definitely worth a watch for its realistic characters and the charming couple.

If you can't convince them, confuse them.
