@Shariq: they have 7 months to fix these problems, and I am sure as the following trailers come out, they will be much better. This one looked like a rushed job to bank on the holidays audience, and I would say it was serviceable. Don't forget that unlike MI4, TDK audience didn't need to be lured because They will see this film through regardless. While MI4 needed a kick-ass trailer because people did not show up for MI3 and because Cruise became a pariah in the last 10 years.
@Mad: man you are twisted, lol.

Why compare it to
MI4
at all? Compare it to
Nolan
's previous movies. Or even the other *big* trailers releases at around the same time as for this movie:
Prometheus
and
The Hobbit
.
Anyway, let's hope that opening 10-min scene comes to IMAX Dubai sometime soon.

after a decade or so, you'll be harder to please, and it takes a real professional, or maybe a teenage amatuer to be able to cum.
Haha! Man, the stuff you post...

I was not comparing the two films, I was merely reflecting on the marketing strategies for
WB
with
The Dark Knight Rises
vs.
Paramount
with
MI4
. In the case for
TDKR
,
WB
knows the flock of loyal fans will show up on the opening weekend with a record breaking numbers, thus they don't really need a breath taking trailer to convince them or change their minds. Instead they need a long campaign of flirting, teasing, and foreplay (keeping up with Mad's metaphors), with showing some photage here and there to ensure the geeks are driven crazy and the blogs, articles, and tweets a buzz. Then by July an orgy of fanboys climaxing at the multiplex would give
WB
the upper hand in 2012 (with this film and
The Hobbit
at the end of the year). Compare it to
Paramount
which had an uphill battle to make and market this installment after
Tom Cruise
off-screen shenanigans and weird behavior which made
MI3
a box-office disappointed, despite being an excellent entry (as I said before and stood by my opinion
MI3
was better then its predecessors). That is why
MI4
had THE best trailer of this year, because it NEEDED one,.

Yup...didn't think it was good at all. Looks quite messy actually. Some good scenes here and there, but the football field scene was plain dumb (and like some unseen footage from Inception).
+1. Looks messy.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting."

I'm mixed about this movie. What are your thoughts based on the trailers so far?

I expect the movie to be ultra-serious, like the two previous Batman movies. But I also expect them to be excellent dramas, well-written and very well edited. Like all Nolan movies, it'll be about good cinema, rather than popcorn-fun.

After Avengers, I just wish all superhero movies had a Hulk cameo.
Seriously though, this looks dark and fiendishly plotted. It will probably be a very compelling watch and I have a feeling Nolan has a few things up his sleeve that will surprise viewers.
