The full line-up has been announced, includes Let Me In & Paan Singh Tomar.

Official Website: http://www.abudhabifilmfestival.ae/

I'm going through the full film line-up now. It may be worth driving there for some of the movies, probably easier too if there's company <hint> Wink

If Let me in plays at a suitable date/time (i.e. weekend and/or after work) I might be game for it. Post the full line up here when and if you can.

The list of movies on show is available here: http://ticketing.abudhabifilmfestival.ae/eng/filmlist.aspx (it's not in an easy copy/paste format).

The ones I am interested in are:

Slackistan :: 17Oct 18:00 :: Marina Mall 1
Pakistan, U.K. / 2010 / 87 min. / Color / HDCAM / English, Urdu / Arabic, English subtitles / International Premiere / Suitable for 15+

Let Me In :: 18Oct 21:30 :: Emirates Palace
U.S.A. / 2010 / 111 min. / Color / 35 mm / English / Arabic subtitles / Unknown / Suitable for 15+

Never Let Me Go :: 19Oct 18:45 :: Marina Mall 6
U.K., U.S.A. / 2010 / 105 min. / Color / 35 mm / English / Arabic subtitles / Gulf Premiere / Suitable for 15+

Certified Copy (Copie conforme) :: 19Oct 21:30 :: Marina Mall 6
France, Italy / 2010 / 102 min. / Color / 35 mm / French, English, Italian / Arabic, English, French subtitles / Middle East Premiere / Suitable for 12+

Paan Singh Tomar :: 20Oct 21:45 :: Emirates Palace
India / 2010 / 126 min. / Color / 35 mm / Hindi / English subtitles / World Premiere / Suitable for 12+

That's 5 movies in 4 trips.

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

CERTIFIED COPY is alone worth the trip, I think.

That and of course SLACKISTAN, which looks like a masterpiece directed by the auteur Hammad Khan, who clearly listens to cool music while directing (my other theory is that they are noise-reduction headphones to help him...concentrate on being an auteur).

NEVER LET ME GO is kinda dull, though it does have Romanek's trademark pop aesthetic.

Also, consider these:

Assayas' CARLOS
Schnabel's MIRAL

...and, lastly, try and watch the international Shorts.

I'll not be able to do the weekend, can only do weekday evenings. Didn't realize 17th is a Sun, so I'll have to skip Slackistan also.

Fizz - how're you on these days: Sat-Sun with kaytee or Mon-Wed with me?

Kaytee/Shariq - though I have work on that day, I can manage Saturday 16th October for Wrecked and West is West. Let me know if you guys are up for it, we can work out the logistics of it eventually.
