This looks really sweet. I love the fact that you have full HD camera front *and* back to enable conferencing. AND, the best thing -- it has non-proprietary HDMI output for presentations and, I dunno, watching movies...
Apple iPad has a serious competitor.

Despite all this tablet nonsense, I am just waiting for Amazon to put out a *color* Kindle device at the price point of under $199. (Their latest 3G model is $189). I only want to read books and a color Kindle would be perfect for me.
And then, when I start earning the big bucks (or, even, start earning
any
bucks), I would spring for an advanced smartphone that will satisfy the rest of my data communication needs (dealing with studio heads, receiving dirty pictures from my girlfriend Natalie Portman, that sort of business...)
Right now I use a typewriter for writing, and a $20 Walmart cell phone that only makes/receives calls and text messages. I am very happy.

Typewriter? Actual typewriter? With ribbons? What happened to good old PC?

I imagine ak, white-shirt & suspenders, a hat and maybe a hip-flask by side, typing out his ideas all night. Only to realize in the morning that, *gasp*, he didn't Ctrl+S!

As a relic, wouldn't those things be more expensive now than a PC?

Ha ha...except, once written, the trouble is, it *cannot* be *deleted*.

Blackberry Playbook Meeting number 1:
" OK look we are gonna make an iPad killer.we don't have to do any research we will just steal the same iPad functionality and design.instead, we are gonna please the stupid majority by allowing everything to play on it,Flash,HTML,torrents etc
i'm sick and tired of all these so called iPad killers...all of them stole the same iPad design with a few changes.wait for the 7-inch iPad.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting."

Following your logic, didn't Apple "steal" the iPad design from the Tablet PC which has been around for a decade?
Innovation may be just another word for improvement.

AK, does Kindle allow you to simple drag and drop any ebook into it or is it closed system?

Kindle 2 offers native PDF support! Totally open.

I'm reading on Kindle 2, but it still does seem to have restrictions, that you cant just drag and drop stuff in.
Like always, there must be some good alternatives in the market with less of a brand recognition.
