The first flick from the director of
Lives of Others
and this is what he comes up with? Jack Sparrow and Angelina Jolie flirting in Venice.

Rubbish? Damn...I was going to watch it this weekend. Guess I'll skip it. The trailer for this looks so predictable.

Both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie look old and hideous.
The trailer does make the movie look like fun, which is exactly what I expect from it.
Also, I really love Florian Heckel Van Donnersmack in the credits. It actually fits!

If it were all in the script, why make the film?

Yes, true. Depp especially looks horrible. I was sure he wearing kohl underneath his eyes in some of the scenes and expected him in dreadlocks, red bandana and a faux British accent ala Jack Sparrow. The forced humour/perkiness of the film feels odd and quite rubbish. I think I've had enough of aging actors trying to pull in the crowds with their manufactured images after the horrible
Knight and Day

It doesn't help that Jolie looks like a witch.

What are you guys on? As AK said, the trailer makes it look like so much fun, and that's all I want from it.
Depp
does look like Jack Sparrow, but
Jolie
look ravishing. The
Gabriel Yard
music is refreshing, just like last year's
Hans Zimmer
's score for
Sherlock Holmes

I love Gabriel Yared. Try and get your hands on his *rejected* score for TROY -- it would have made that film much better (I still like TROY; a couple of great scenes interspersed among average to bad stuff).

this is the shittiest trailer i have seen in a while....worst make up goes to Angelina and Depp looks bad too.it's ironic, they managed to make the two of the "sexiest" celeb "on the planet" look awful together...there's no chemistry either.
do you know what this movie look like? it looks like one of those 6/10 forgettable poops with big stars which come out every year...like The Interpreter or Spy Game etc
fuck this movie

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting."

December 9th release in the UAE, a day before the US
Ak, our coming soon section on the main site desperately needs an update.

You're absolutely right. Give me two days and I will make some dramatic improvements to this section.
