Nope Sacred it is aint from a Steve Martin movie. It is from a Sean Connery movie.

Btw Fizz is correct with Broken Flowers.

this might be POLTERGEIST ... I know I've seen this scene ...
the girl could move by herself (well, not really, it's the evil forces in the house)  ... they (the parents) are testing her in this scene ...

at least part 1 of the series would coincide with your statement being a 'classic'
