Do check with retail outlets. If you are late in your purchase and the SX30 is released locally, the SX20 will disappear off shelves and no one will stock it anymore because Canon will make sure they don't (how else will their new product sell?).

SX20 IS is already out of stock everywhere in Jeddah, and it has been for a while. I'll be buying it on eBay.

I just wanna let you guys know that I finally bought my Canon PowerShot SX20 IS on eBay, and it cost me $424.99 with shipping:

Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera + 8GB KIT

I am super duper excited, especially after the iPhone4 debacle that I nearly got myself into a few days ago.

I've been looking for cameras on eBay too, how did you manage to persuade the seller to ship it to you? Was it through UPS?

I did not have to persuade any seller to ship to me, so sellers happen to welcome international orders on eBay.

May be you can look up the store of this particular merchant I bought my camera from, and see if you like anything they have.

I was looking for the camera for the last couple of weeks, upon Fizz and one of my other friends recommendations, and I even found it cheaper than this, but I liked the whole package of other stuff bundled in this offer, which adds up and made the deal worth it for me.

I also have Shop&Shop addresses in both US and UK, which I have been using for a few years, and the Saudi Post service also started offering shipping addresses in several countries like US, UK, Australia, and China, so that we can buy from the people who refuses to ship internationally, or charge too much for shipping.

Or refuse to ship to Saudi Arabia?

Good package, looks like a neat bundle. Prices in Dubai have also dropped since the announcement of the SX30 a couple of weeks ago, but all in all, you've made a good decision and should not be disappointed.

Yeah many sellers would not touch an international order. I guess it is an insurance issue.

Yes, it has to do with customs as well. Sometimes the order is shipped and is held up or taxed heavily, with the customer giving the seller more trouble than its worth.

some online retailers ship to every single country you think of...except Saudi.

you know years ago before i had a shop & ship account i placed a 400 dollars plus order  with www.deepdiscountdvd.com. i never received anything due to the fact the customs over here steal everything. i sent an email to DDD , they sent me a refund and when i wanted to order again,i checked the drop-down menu they had every single country you think of except Saudi hahahaha

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
