TEJA mein hoon, Mark idhar hai !!

I am not aware of Julian Schnabel's film history having only seen The Diving Bell and the Butterfly which I thought was pretty amazing the way it was filmed. This looks like a more generic war movie but this time involving the Palestine and Israel war.

It's a bit sad that they would get an Indian girl to play an Arab. At least they cast the very excellent Hiam Abbas.

It is not like this is not the norm in Hollywood and the West in general, because you know brown people are all the same. You have Naveen Andrews playing Sayid in Lost, Anil Kapoor playing President Omar Hassan in 24, etc,  just to name a couple.

That doesn't it make all right. Besides isn't Schnabel a revered arthouse director?

"Before Night Falls" and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" are one of the best movies i've seen but this looks like another cliched middle east drama....

a guy being tortured...a man praying... rebellious girl...that's just...argh.plus "alentefadah" never looked better.i don't expect some hippie like Schnabel to get things right about arabs he didn't get it right about latinos either but let's at least hope it has amazing dream-like sequences like "Before Night Falls" and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly".

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
