« on: July 08, 2010, 11:37:AM »

Guys I need to buy a pair of Wireless Headsets...so that I can avoid the nags of my wife when I watch Breaking Bad late at night.

Any suggestions?

It's fantastic, and Fizz will probably agree. I don't remember the brand-name. Will check and post it here when I'm at home. Or if Fizz remembers...

The brand is AKG - apparently the best quality headphones you can get. Both Shariq and I have these, and they are really, very, very good. You can read more about it here:

http://www.akg.com/personal/K_910,pcatid,5,pid,49,_psmand,1.html

These are of course very expensive - when I asked last year, it was retailing for about AED 1000, of course mine was a generous gift from very understand and close friends Smiley

Frankly, I've not used them as often as I thought I would have to because my wife is a real sport and has watched nearly everything I've seen recently at home. The one occasion where it was used that I can remember was when I saw White Ribbon on my own and the quality was crisp, my only complain being that I had to remove them once over the 2 hour period because its not something I'm used to having around my ears, but otherwise, very comfortable to wear integrates seamlessly with the home theater.

Also, I did some research before I got these and the Philips were pretty good too - at about half the price. A visit to the local Emax or even Carrefour would help.

Ok I visited Sharaf DG and they are selling the AKG 910 which is the wireless one for Dhs 1099 and if I buy the Harmon Kardon AVR 134 + JBL speaker set for Dhs 1999 i get the AKG 910 for free. Needless to say, I got the AVR 134 so I can upgrade my current system which had no HD capability.

Soon I will be getting rid of the AVR 132 which I had, so if anyone has any interest in buying it, so let me know.
