TEJA mein hoon, Mark idhar hai !!

« on: May 13, 2010, 11:25:AM »

Steven Spielberg producing, JJ "Lost" Abrams directing...

No news of the cast or the plot except "Super 8 is a Sci-Fi film set in 1979 written and directed by J.J. Abrams. "

I like the teaser. Just the way it's shot looks so cool.

I'm pretty sure none of what we see in the teaser will be in the actual, finished film. It is a new, somewhat irritating concept of commercial cinema where the teasers are made before a single scene is shot (the film is still in pre-production according to IMDB and not a single actor has been cast - Abrams did the same with his Star Trek reboot). Buzz is everything these days when it comes to movie making and it seems to be working well for studios.

Actually you can trace that phenomena further back to Cloverfield, also with a JJ Abrams connection.

Pretty right. The teaser of Star Trek was the building of the ship, and was shot specifically for the teaser. It did its job though - it's got me buzzing.

Here is the latest trailer, and it is freakin' awesome, even though we still don't see any monster:

what do you mean it's freakin' awesome?! nothing in that trailer we haven't seen before..the fact it's set in 1979 add some value to it but this is going to be just another invasion movie we will enjoy this summer then forget about it comes September...

please fast forward till Fall.

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Listen dude, I was expressing my opinion, I really liked that trailer, the teasing, the anticipation, the E.T./Close Encounter from the Third Kind vibes, and above all not showing the monster. If you don't like that, then it's no surprise, after all you never like anything at all, like ever!

By the way, I would not mind a well done forgettable summer flick, and who's better than Abrams and Spielberg in delivering.
