Jennifer's Body (Kusama, 2009)
IMDB Link

I came from Megan Fox. I stayed for…well, my OCD of not stopping a movie midway, because Megan Fox was not really enough to keep  you watching. I didn’t expect a brilliant horror classic, just enough pleasing material to make it a boner-inducing experience.

But boners only take you so far.

The film is a mess. Not just plot wise, but TONE-WISE. It couldn’t decide what tone it should have, which is essential for any movie, but I feel extra important for a horror movie. Because scenes and plot-twists can seem silly and stupid in one horror movie, but with a slight change in tone, it can seem funny and entertaining. “Jennifer’s Body” has the wrong tone throughout. It goes from trying to be funny to trying to be scary to trying to be a dramatic look at teenage friendship, and all it can successfully achieve is showing that Fox is foxy.

Oh and while saying things like “Fox is foxy” might seem stupid, it is not far off from the film itself, considering its main character is needy, so they called her “Needy”. Great subtlety there, award-winning scriptwriter Ms Cody.

Mad there's already an existing thread for this film.
