Scheduled for a December 25, 2010 release, this film is based on Charles Portis' novel, which is about a 14-year-old girl who, along with an aging U.S. marshal and another lawman, tracks her father's killer in hostile Indian territory.

The book was earlier adapted in 1969 with and as a showcase for John Wayne.

The Western drama stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.

Could it be the third in their Western noir trilogy? Can't wait...especially with that electric a cast.

I did see it and reviewed it, and it was wonderful despite the grim ending. The question is: have The Coens ever made a bad film? I don't mean an average meh film, I mean a truly awful unwatchable one. The superb cast (I mean The Dude is there come on!) and synopsis of True Grit makes it a most see.

A Serious Man is the one movie that everybody in our scattered little group (across the world) keeps recommending to me.

Also, the fucking Coens are a fucking machine! They keep making movies. If I were Jew, I would be so proud of them and use their efficiency as an example in my religious sermons.

No, I don't believe they have ever made a bad film. "Intolerable Cruelty" and "The Lady Killers" are often mentioned as the Coens weakest works inspite of being really entertaining well made flicks.

Recently watched the 1969 version which obviously was intended as a John Wayne vehcile and makes good use of his larger than life persona. I couldn't help wondering why the Coens picked this to remake. Not having read the book on which it is based I guess they must have seen something in it so we can expect a completely different take on the book.

Calm down Dude, you have not seen neither, so don't worry your pretty little head just yet. Your beloved Fincher is likely getting his due this year, and as you know the Coens got their's three years ago, remember?

My hero Roger Deakins shot this and it will be another very beautiful film.

One more reason for excitement: Barry Pepper.
