Synopsis: based on a novel by Jonathan Trigell, Boy A is the story of Jack Burridge a young man who is just released from a jail sentence after committing a brutal crime when he was a child. With the help of his case-officer, he try to build a new life with his new identity, he finds a new job, new friends, and a new love while trying deal with secret ghosts of his past which are weighing down on him.
This is a heartbreaking drama of the sort you don't see that many nowadays.. The present and the past goes hand to hand in the film where we see the new man Jack with a good future ahead, yet still a tortured soul who is trying to put the past behind him and become a good person. He is truly blossoming and becoming a genuinely happy person if it was not for the past which is hunting him. It is an excellent film and the young actor who plays Jack,
Andrew Garfield, is just excellent, just amazing in portraying all conflicted emotions that he has. In some scenes he is intimate with his new love and she say something to him and he cries and laugh of happiness in the same time and I swear I wanna reach out to him and hug him and say that everything is gonna be alright. This actor is quite busy these days, he was in
Terry Gilliam's
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the
Red Ridding Trilogy, and in
David Fincher's upcoming Facebook film
The Social Network. Don't forget this name
Andrew Garfield he will be big someday.
I have watched three excellent British film this week and this one is the last of the three, but I wanted to write about this one first because this one touched me the most. One of the best drama I have seen in a long time, and I give it
4.5/5P.S. DON"T WATCH the trailer. It reveals everything, and I mean everything!!!
