"Who Wants to Be a Superhero?"
Premieres tonight at 9/8c on the SCI FI Channel
The six-episode, one-hour series challenges 11 lucky participants, chosen from thousands of hopefuls from across the country, to create their very own superhero alter ego, live with each other in a secret lair and compete against each other to prove their mettle, reveal the true nature of their superhuman abilities and invoke the noble credos by which they live.
There's only one person in the world who is qualified to act as both judge and jury for such a contest and that's
Stan "The Man" Lee
, the creator of
Spider-Man, The Hulk, Fantastic Four and X-Men
, to name only a few. During the six-week competition, these homegrown superheroes will live under Stan's watchful eye doing their utmost to demonstrate the true qualities of a superhero - courage, integrity, self-sacrifice, compassion and resourcefulness - while at the same time fighting tooth and nail to come out on top by the seat of their spandex pants. The winner flies away with the greatest prize in reality TV history! His or her superhero character will be immortalized in a new comic book to be created by Stan Lee himself and released by Dark Horse Comics! The winner will also be featured in one of SCI FI Channel's wildly popular original Saturday night action movies and receive a trip for two to Florida to be a featured guest in Universal Orlando Resort's daily superhero parade.

In our reality where countries are being bombed back to the Dark Ages, where the media is fanning the flames of dissent through propaganda instead of encouraging diplomacy, and in a time where the UN is sitting with a thumb up Kofi Anan's butt, the possibility of *real* superheroes is in poor taste.
Stan Lee should wear a price tag around his neck.

Screw these reality TV shows...now we get a series about imaginary characters. Talk about bad taste.

It looks promising and it will be interesting to see what
Matthew Perry
can do without his
Friends
around him + anything with the hottie
Amanda Peet
should be a must watch. It will premiere on NBC on September 1st 2006.

So come take a fascinating look behind the scenes of Studio 60, a fictional sketch-comedy series on the NBS broadcast network. Problem is the series seems to be going down the tube fast. Everyone involved with the late-night dud seems to have one problem or another, including the current Executive Producer, who just had an on-air mental meltdown, and time is running out fast.
Enter the networks Chairman of the Board (Steven Weber), a new network president (Amanda Peet) looking to make her mark on the net. Her answer is move is to bring in a pair of fresh-faced writers (Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford) to try and save the series. Will it work?

Perry did serious in a couple of "West Wing" episodes I caught, and obviously Sorkin was impressed too.

It's funny how every series must have a token black guy.
Check him out - not only is he right at the back, he's dressed totally street while everyone wears Prada. America, land of the free.

LoL, What Prada is for whites, Fubu is for the blacks, but Fubu still makes them look like ghetto superstars.

Sarah Connor Chronicles Gets the Green Light
[/b]
Warner Bros. TV has set
David Nutter
to direct the pilot for
"The Sarah Connor Chronicles,"
prompting Fox Broadcasting to officially greenlight production on the "Terminator"-themed project.
Nutter, whose last 12 pilots have all been picked up to series, also will serve as executive producer. Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar's C2 Pictures, which produced the most recent "Terminator" feature, is producing with Warner Bros. TV.
Fox made a put pilot commitment to "Connor" last fall, picking up the script from executive producer Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds). Kassar and Vajna will also executive produce.
Casting on "Connor" will begin immediately, with filming expected to commence early next year in New Mexico.
Nutter -- who directed the pilots of successes such as
"Smallville," "Without a Trace" and "Supernatural"
-- has a connection with original "Terminator" helmer
James Cameron
, having directed the pilot for Cameron's Fox series
"Dark Angel."
The new installment in the "Terminator" franchise revolves around Connor and her savior son, John Connor. The series will explore what happened to Sarah Connor after the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, when the character went on the run.

Looking at the first pic, I guess - after Naveen Andrews in "Lost" - its finally cool to have an Indian guy in your cast.
Like you said addu "America, land of the free." ;-)
