Well I can see how it cost so much. The show had some excellent HBO quality production design. Just the studio itself where they shot the show was humongous. Plus a cast of almost a dozen main and supporting characters. On top of that, all the main characters either drive Range Rover's (Danny), BMW's (Jordan & Matt) or Lexus (Jack). This show was meant for a premium pay channel like HBO and not free to air NBC. Ironically, a similar remark is made in one of the Studio 60's earlier episodes.

Episode #s 19, 20, 21 aptly titled K&R = Khandhar = Kidnap and Ransom are one of the best episodes of the season.

And these episodes are meant to be seen back to back...I love it when this show goes all personal, the humour just escalates to a new level.

Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: The Complete Series on 16th October 2007 priced at $59.98 SRP. What goes on behind the scenes of a nationwide late-night comedy sketch show? Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, answers that question with a his new show within a show filled which boasts engaging characters, ear-grabbing dialogue and a Hollywood hive of insider buzz. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford portray the likable hotshots brought in to revive NBS-TV's sagging flagship comedy series and Amanda Peet plays their savvy boss in episodes exploring the lives and loves of and the make-or-break creative pressures on the show's staff.

Cancelled mid-season all 22 episodes are presented here across six-discs in 1.78:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround audio and optional English and Spanish subtitles. Extras include commentary with Aaron Sorkin and Tommy Schlamme on the Pilot episode and a documentary.
