Psychoville (BBC, 2009)
IMDB Link

A few years ago, there was a British TV show called “The League of Gentlemen”, a weird, unique, dark comedy, that was unlike anything before or after it. This year, some of members behind that have made another show, called “Psychoville”.

“Psychoville” is also a dark comedy. But this time the emphasis is much more on dark and much less on comedy.

Several different characters get a letter that claims it knows what they did. As the episodes progress, these characters get further clues. We the audience wonder what the mystery is, and the story arc takes us to the reveal in the finale of this seven episode series.

The characters are weird. There is an angry clown with a mutated hand that tries to do tricks at children’s shows with a hook (not very successfully). A dwarf with a telekinetic power. A woman that believes a baby doll is her actual baby. A blind man that is trying to complete his stuffed toy collection. And a disturbed man-child with an overly protective mother, who comes home one day and tells her, “I did a bad murder.”

Sounds weird, and is actually weirder than it sounds. But it is never really that funny.
