The top awards are ridiculous. Meryl Streep & RDJr! Hurt Locker won nothing.

I was perhaps the most enthusiastic of you guys about The Hangover, but even I would admit that it was not the right choice for Best Comedy. But if you but it in contest, the other nominees were: It is complicated which was crap, Nine which everybody hated, Julie and Julia which was a schizophrenic experience for most, and  (500) Days of Summer which was excellent but no one saw. The Golden Globes people are known as Star Fuckers, and that is would explain many choices, for instance RDJ, and Sandra Bullock, over the bluntly more deserving nominees (Mat Damon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Stuhlbarg, and every other nominee in the Female category). As for Avatar winning, I predict a big uproar if it won the Oscar, the kind we haven't seen since Crash won 5 years ago, perhaps even bigger.

Also to be objective, Meryl Streep, Mo'Nique, Jeff Bridges, and almost all the TV wins are justified.

Going as per the SAG awards C Waltz, Jeff Bridges and Monique are a lock for the Oscar awards. Sandra Bullock has become the front runner now after winning the SAG award for The Blind Side. What happened to Carey Mulligan??

Sandra Bullock's now old enough to get the Oscar too. Guess the acting Oscars are a lock (unless there's an upset). And probably Avatar $2b will bowl-over any chances of Hurt Locker taking the top two awards. It's going to be a boring Oscar ceremony.

I predict an upset, Oscars likely have surprises especially in the acting category. May be this time around Myrel Streep will be the bride instead of the bride's maid, don't forget her last Oscar win was more than 25 years ago.

Not quite yet my friend. For instance, in 2003 DGA Award went to Rob Marshall for Chicago, but the Oscar went to Roman Polanski for The Pianist. Also in 2001, DGA gave its top honor to Ang Lee for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, while the Oscar went to Steven Soderbergh for Traffic.

DGA selection is usually a strong indication for the way the Oscar will go, but exceptions happen from time to time.

We should have our own "WM Awards". To REALLY honor which movies and who we think deserve the elusive and exclusive "WM Award winner" title.

"...WM AwardTM winner Jim Jarmusch not only reinvents himself, but goes on to kick the dick out of crowd favorites Cameron and Scorsese", etc.

I have to say LIMITS OF CONTROL is so far the best film of 2009, for me.

This WM Awards is a good idea. But in order for us to do it, that means the group needs to finalize their thoughts regarding the Best Films of 2009. Then we can just build on that and publish the WM Awards.
