Some of Pixar's best movies are their shorts. yes, they are even better than some of the feature lengths. But apart from Pixar, CGI Animation is a whole world out there for aspiring artists and film-makers who not only find the short-animated medium as an outlet for their animation, but also for story-telling.

I'm gonna post here some animated shorts that I find worth watching. Many Pixar's will feature here too. But mostly from others.

My favorite is probably 2003's Rockfish by Blur studios. Not just the animation and the story of the short itself, the world created in this little movie 9-minute movie is immediately identifiable as part of a rich universe of ideas.

There was word that Vin Diesel wanted to produce a feature-length out of this...

Meet Oktopodi, or a male Octopus and a female Octopus. When they're separated for one to be cooked, the other chooses to risk all... for Love.

2:30 min French short that's as cute as they come.

Last for today: Distraxion. A poor office worker who just can't get his mind around the obnoxious music that distracts him!

This 1:50min short was made by one of the animators of DreamWorks.

Of the shorts I've seen yet, this is humor at its bleakest black.

Trust Pixar to come up with a POV turned around. The Truth is really out there.

3:10 min short that was made by an animation student for his Master's Thesis. Logically, it's stretched out. But the idea is very nice.

Looney Tunes has, over 2010, released three animated shorts of Wile E. Coyote & Road Runner.

Coyote Falls was shown with Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore
Fur of Flying was shown with Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole
Rabid Rider was shown with Yogi Bear

I've seen the second one when I had gone for the mo, and it is hilarious.

Here are two, for your viewing pleasure, and a teaser of the third:
