One of the most frightening and suspenseful films I have seen all year. It slowly build-up the anticipation and creep up on you and then by the third act after we are all worked up and prepared, the paranoia and suspense make you jump off your seat at the slightest thing, because it is really creepy and many of us believe such things is plausible and happens all the time. It is not jumpy laugh at your own silliness like Drag Me to Hell, it is the scary almost pissing your pants type of jumpy. I would give it 4/5, and highly recommend that yous see it with others as a communal experience.

I agree with this being a communal experience. Even those uninterested in the film (the flock of local girls busy texting away on their over priced phones) were completely attentive everytime we had those minute long scenes at the end of each day with the camera showing up what was happening in the room the night before. It made for engaging viewing, and though not close to the highs of Blair Witch which really felt like a documentary (this film feels like a faux Reality TV show at best), as a horror film, I couldn't complain. It had the chills, the thrills, but most of all, the right amount of frights, none of which were cheaply thrown at us. A welcome addition to the horror genre.

Narrative is the poison of cinema...There’s nothing more beautiful than elusiveness in cinema.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
