Have you seen the Ramayana 3392 AD and  Ramayana 3392 AD Reloaded by virgin comics? An attempt by Deepak Chopra et al to bring Ramayana to a post Apocalyptic age with a Nanotech Ravan. The art is quite good, eventhough the story line is weak and quite new agey...

I've been trying to buy this comic book series, but it's not available! Even in Mumbai and Bangalore I couldn't find it. Yes, that cover art by Alex Ross is simply fantastic.

Whatever I've read of Virgin Comics has been borderline atrocious. I would avoid all their quasi Americanization of Indian/Sub Continental culture into hip, easily digestible, boring tales.

What is wrong in making one culture easily digestible to another culture?

Yes, Virgin comics has been consistently groan-worthy. On the contrary, Amar Chitra Katha, the traditional comics of India for decades is still quite good. Their version of the Mahabharata is simply fantastic, and as labyrinthe yet captivating as Watchmen. And quite controversial (if you are not familiar with the stories) too.

it would be so cool to have the great graphics with our script and understanding of the epic in one comic book

I own the hardbound special edition of Mahabharata, courtesy of Sulphurhead - he gifted it to me last year!
