Speaking of indie releases, Moon was also released this week, for those that haven't seen it yet.

One of our members should check it out at the local screens and then comment on the censorship. I expect the direct quotations from the Islamic scriptures and some male nudity to be snipped. I do not believe it will be dubbed.

Not seen it on the big screen (only played a week here), but yes, male nudity bits and a stint with a hooker will likely be axed, though not too sure about the scriptures bit because they aren't demeaning and are actually instrumental in "getting" the film. Also, as of late, the distributors here have preferred dubbed versions to original language with translations. Animated, your best bet is to call and ask which version is playing - the customer service people should know or can find out.

So, no Kick-Ass this week, but posters are up all over, so that's a good sign. Still a decent week for choosing what to see at the movies - Brothers (catching it in a few hours), Clash of the Titans (already seen) and our very own City of Life, probably sometime later over the weekend. Yay!

Not gonna happen anytime soon, it is a very divisive topic, just like any other issue that come up to surface in our beloved Kingdom. People will jump on each other's throat for the slightest most trivial subject.

You know there a European Film Festival that is currently undergoing in Jeddah my city just a few kilometers from my house, yet I can't attend it. Why? Because its attendance is exclusive for invited media delegates, diplomats and their families. It really sucks ass.
