which is a revenge tale of a man, played by Jerald Butler, who wants to avenge the murder of his family

That's Gerard Butler...unless it's an intentional mistake Wink

Out this weekend States side:

•   SAW IV: The saga continues because it becomes a habit not event, reviews are bad but not catastrophically so, as it stands at 22% on Tomatometer.
•   Astro Boy: animation based on 1950's Japanese Manga. Reviews are so-so as it stands at 44%.
•   Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant: Paul Weitz's (About a Boy, American Pie) horror/comedy/action staring John C. Riley is getting bad reviews too and it stands at 36% on RT.
•   Amelia: Mira Nair's take on the life of the famous aviator Amelia Earhart staring Hilary Swank is really despised by critics as it is only getting 17% approval at RT.
•   Antichrist: one of the most controversial films of this year Lars Von Trier's Antichrist is splitting critics right in the middle as it is getting 50% on Tomatometer, and 51% at Metacritics.

As for the UAE:
•   A Perfect Getaway: a horror thriller staring Steve Zahn and Mila Jovovich opened last august in the US but didn't kinda flopped even though it wasn't badly reviewed as it stands at 58% on RT which is really good for the genera.
•   Love Happens: romantic drama staring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart that flopped critically and financially.
•   Blood and Bone: Martial art action drama staring Michael Jai White that went straight to DVD in the US.
•   The Fifth Commandment: the other martial art thriller this week only this one set in Bangkok staring Rick Yune. The two films also have something on common, almost nobody heard of them or cared to review them. Both are dumped to the international market.

In conclusion, stay home this weekend or try to catch up with last weeks releases.

So basically the offer is we get to watch three films that nobody has anything good to say about back to back and pay AED100, only to save like AED10. Thanks but no thanks.Tell me about it when they make an offer that respect my sensebility as film lover. I really had more hopes for Reel Cinema, my bad!

This weekend I apologize for not making a thorough wrap up. My internet at home is down, so you will probably hear less from me in the following days (there's your silverlining). So in the US and around the world the biggest Juggernaut is This Is It. Also opening Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day, The House of The Devil, Skin, and Storm.

In the UAE the weekend main releases are This Is It, Couples Retreat, Ponyo, Whiteout, London Dreams, and Aladin. This weekend is packed but starting nextweekend the floodgate of holiday films will open with Jim Carey/Robert Zemeckis's A Chrismas Carol. Hopefully those overwhelming releases will be worthy of our time and money.

The Tomatometer gives it 86% and the Metacritics gives it 77%.
