We will be talking movies on the radio!

Our very own Fizz and MADali will be LIVE ON AIR tearing movies and directors to shred!

Details:
Program: Saturday Extra
Radio Station: Dubai Eye 103.8 [FM]
Day & Time: Saturday, 12 Sept, 10am [UAE time]
.:LISTEN TO THE LIVE STREAMING FEED:. (click this at the above day/time)

Will you be listening?
--

Update (12 Sept, 12pm):

Yes, the Dubai Eye 103.8 live streaming radio is broken.

I had to ask someone to do me a favor and capture the radio show via a sound recorder. The quality is very average but listenable.

Listen to two very interesting segments from the show, at your own leisure:

Download Part 1: Inglourious Basterds; Debate between Fizz and Mad about Quentin Tarantino [mp3, 4.5mb]

Download Part 2: District 9; Debate between Fizz and Mad about Peter Jackson; Zombies in Sound of Music; Time Traveller's Wife [mp3, 5.5mb]

I need comments on the reliability of the streaming feed.

Who here has clicked it to check? Does it time out?

It will  be on at 10am in the morning that's 9 am in KSA, I will try to catch it despite its inconvenient time slot.

Fizz and MADali were excellent on the radio. It had a shaky start with discussion about Bollywood (why, oh why?!), but Fizz distanced yet covered it well with his comments on the general liking for it. A few minutes into the session, MADali started stirring the pot with his comment of outright hatred for Bollywood, and that started the lift. The discussions on QT and his films, and then on Peter Jackson were fantastic, and John Deykin only grew more enthusiastic as the session went on.

It ran for almost half-an-hour instead of the scheduled 15-minutes, and that is a good thing!

As i was telling Fizz, the opening pair have set the bar high for the others to live up to. But hopefully, this now regular feature will only see success.

Thanks for the record! I was worried that I did not have a recording of it because I save every thing I ever do, due to my OCD.

To listeners, thats not the full recording by the way.

It doesn't have the part where the host says "And I assumed you both are Indians"

*awkward pause from me and Fizz*

"No"

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Why don't you download the recordings, and use a voice-distortion software, so you don't know what they really sound like!

C'mon dude, it's just them talking about movies.

Ak,

Thanks for putting up the links. I think this should go on the website as well...

My comments on how it felt to be on air later.

Honestly, I am not happy with the quality of the sound recording, and do not think it does justice to the quality of the discussion. That is why we need to figure out a better way to capture the sound.

I will check with Dubai Eye directly to see if, in future, they can give us this as MP3s of the show. Else, we find a volunteer on the forum (UAE-based) with a digital radio and recording system, so we can manage this ourselves.

Or, a mobile phone with FM radio and recording.
