TEJA mein hoon, Mark idhar hai !!

Mad - you crazy Paul Rudd fan, here is a tip - go watch this TV series called Party Down which is produced by Rudd and has a lot of straight faced jokes, very subtle and funny. Fred Wonder Years Savage directs some episodes. Short 30 mins episodes and the season has a total of 10 episodes total.

Its about a catering company who provides food, drinks, and waiters to parties. These parties can be for a local suburban housewives or for the Governator. A group of 6-7 waiters act as caterers and they clearly are not very good at it thus they fall in situations which are funny. But because the story is set in California most of them are connected to Hollywood, either they are trying to get in or have been kicked out of the system.

Very tongue in cheek and has a The Office like feel to it.

p.s. - It also stars the super hot Lizzy Caplan who went all bare in Tru Blood.

Party Down (Starz, 2009)
IMDB Link

“Party Down” takes the feel of the Ricky Gervais’ “The Office”, without being able to make it work. It focuses on a group of people in a work force (here it is a party organizing company). It has a boss that is a bit delusional and too business-y but disliked. It has a male lead that is likable, but bored and nice and a girl in the workforce that he starts building a relationship. And work hijinks ensue.

But something is missing. The boss is not amusing in his ineptness. The male and the female lead are not really THAT likable. And the secondary characters are not as funny as the show things they are. The awkward situations are just awkward, without being funny. The writers think that just by making a situation embarrassing, it automatically makes it hilarious, but that is not the way it works.

Mad surprising you didnt like it. I found it very funny even though it was not laugh out loud but very subtle humour. Yes the boss is not Ricky Gervais or Michael Scott but he was goofy and actually wants to make it big on the catering and the soup business Smiley.
