If anyone here is too busy to allocate 2 hours of their time in 1 month, then they are not exactly film buffs, they are film puffs.

And oz, the entire point about a recommendation is to get people to see something they normally wouldn't. Appeal has nothing to do with it.

I second Fizz on that, that is the whole damn point Ozzy. None of us saw the film before, except may be AK. And judging by what was discussed before, none of us have seen, nor had a prior interest in seeing the film that is planned for next month, but it would be a bitter medicine that I am willing to swallow in order to make this work. Now be a man and taught it up.

LOL.

dude, you paid to watch movies like The Women and Hotel for Dogs and you listen to bands like Keane and you think Kudu is a great restaurant but you think you are way above movies like Hanna Montana? that's just so funny..

btw,Hanna Montana:The movie is still highly recommended,it's not what many of you think it's....but i'm not choosing it for the film club, wait for my thread on july 1st.

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Why do I have the feeling that you only got this one for its NC-17 rating?

Mad....thanks for being a sport and watching this eventually and putting up your thoughts so quickly thereafter. I hope next time, everyone is able to air their opinions almost simultaneously so there is an onslaught of differing viewpoints (this is at least what I expected from this first movie club month and was disappointed at how slowly everything trickled).

I usually care much about what people think of me or my choices. But frankly, I don't give a shit what YOU think of me, or my taste in films, music, food, and about every other aspect of life. The day I start to care even the slightest for your opinion is the day I should dig a hole for myself and die.

Let me put it bluntly this time, because God knows I tried hinting and didn't work. My exchanges with you turns me into a petty and unpleasant person, someone who I dislike, that is why I want you to try to keep your personal opinion of me to yourself, and I will do the same to you. Let's keep it civilized in here. Me and you can coexist in one place, I think.

It was a recommendation...I hate Region 1 DVDs! I watched Steamboy, Takeshi Kitano's Hana-Bi (Fireworks) and Zatoichi (The Blind Swordsman) and the bloddy DVD player got locked.

Come back again when you're married with kids and see if you can make that same statement with a straight face.
