I'll pick something from Indian Cinema, but it will be to educate all those non-believers who think movies in Hindi are only Dance-around the trees.

But my chance only comes next year. So until then, let's see what we're treated to by toher selections.

Something to ponder over - if we get through the first two selections ok - We could reduce this from being a Monthly excercise to a fortnightly one. Two movies a month ain't too bad either. But only after we get through the first two - let's see how we're reacting to it.

that will be one of the coolest benefits of this club,is to get others to watch stuff you think they usually won't watch or won't even give a chance to and to open others eyes to other stuff they don't know about or think they know about but they don't know shit but each one of us has to commit to the club and watch all the selections.

why not start this club now and we can make it twice a month, once a month is kinda not enough, come on!

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Once a month is more than enough for others suggestions. There are phases when I don't watch stuff for a month or longer.

I agree with fizz too, for now. But it also means having to wait for next year before I suggest a movie, yet the last thing we want is for this to becoem a task.

Should we say the 25th of every month ok to post their comments? That'll give us a few days to discuss the movie. And the next person can suggest a movie by 1st of the new month.

AK: We'll wait for your suggestion.

I think once a month is not bad for now. I like the schedule that Shariqq arranged. All we need now is set of rules and formats that AK mentioned and we are good to go.

As for the film selection, I also think that shedding light on some unknown film is great idea. Also suggesting a film that you heard of but never watched and experiencing it with this community would be quite the experience, or perhaps revisiting a film one watched in childhood or long time ago and see how it holds up. Many wonderful things can happen from this shared activity. However as Shariqq said we don't wanna turn it into a task, it should always be fun and pleasant thing we do together.

However, I suggest that a moderator should be appointed for this. I also think that all of our reviews should be submitted to this moderator and then published in the same time. This way we all get to write our honest reaction to the film without being influenced by the others. Then we can discuss and debate the film. What do you guys think?

I am afraid of the way we are heading with that Grin

Is not this film dubbed as one of the worst films ever made. Now I can't wait till it is Mad's turn, lol.

I am with you on this. I am going through such a phase now where all I am watching now is House. Finished Season 1 and almost done with 2. Ready to hit Season 3 soon.

I disagree with this suggestion - I don't think we let our views be influenced by others on this forum anyway. How many times have we come back and gievn opposite views to the person who made the recommendation. Madali still stands by Nines, I by Mutant Chronicles and kaytee by Ballast. And fizz still hates Hulk.

You disagree because you think posting the reviews simultaneously is a bad idea or because you think we won't influence each other opinion? Anyway it was a thought, certainally not a sacred cow for me.

I think its not really just posting reviews, it should also be debate. Attacks on each others points, arguments, personalities, and mothers are welcome.

While you guys have your TV shows, I have my tons of comics books and graphic novels (or the occasional good book). I keep myself distracted, just not with films all the time.

I like ayaa's suggestions of not allowing one person to publish their views before the other. I would like to say that I'm not influenced by what people say or what others write elsewhere (outside of this forum), but I think for a human being to not do so is just plain impossible. I don't want to turn this into a discussion not centering on this thread (movie club), but I think one of (but not the only) reasons that we've had polirizing points of view with movies is because one person here highly recommended a film. I think we would not be giving each others writing any credit by saying they don't set expectations for us (perhaps influence is too strong a word).

Can we cut the chitchat and get on with it already. The person making the suggestion has to make sure that the movie is readily availalbe in kff format or it will be difficult to get hold of obscure movies.
