Sufjan Stevens has claimed that he will make an album for each of the 50 US States. Album #1 was 'Michigan' (also his home state) and this one here is an ode to the mighty state of Illinois; which means, only 48 states to go -- good luck, Sufjan!

Illinoise is a vibrant and cute folk/ orchestra/ electronica/ kitchen sink oddity that soars, like that Superman on the CD cover. Believe.

Favorite tracks: "Jacksonville," "The Black Hawk War," "Chicago," "Prairie Fire that Wanders About," "They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From The Dead!! Ahhhhh!"

yeah i love "Chicago".it was used in" Little Miss Sunshine" trailer i think..

I know Anne Litt, the music supervisor on Little Miss Sunshine and it was she who introduced me to his music!
