Trials of Henry Kissinger (2002)

Smartly edited, bountiful in information. Though it mainly focusses on Kissinger's political life (read the film title again), Jarecki uses the ocassion to disseminate a crystal-clear summary of the American foreign policy after WW2. I basically learnt about Nixon's Watergate, North/South Korea, the Cambodian war, the East Timor conflict and the bloody Chilean coup in less than 90 minutes. All of this is neatly tied to Kissinger without having the documentary feel like a Michael Moore-esque propaganda video. Brian Cox's deep gravel voiceover narration is very appropriately classic Americana. ak
