A movie which should have lasted 30 minutes, ended up lasting for a tiresome 2 hours.
The same old story beaten to death in countless number of films. Yes the acting is decent from
Tom Wilkinson and Sissy Spacek
but thats about it. Honestly speaking their isnt much to talk about the movie coz nothing really happens in it.
Its a tale of how a mother and father cope with the death of their son and about revenge. But the real question is who is the revenge taken on? I have a feeling it is
Marisa Tomei
but I maybe wrong?
Anyhoo if I was the father and something like this happened to me I wouldnt be waiting for so long to take revenge, instead I would go out there and kick the hell out of the person who did that to me. But thats me.
All I can say is "AVOID".

To add fuel to the fire, my biggest problem with this film was its pacing (two pitchers of coffee couldn't keep me awake through it...) and the absence of anything really happening on screen. You think its a great setup and it starts out promisingly enough, but there is no reason for the film to go on for more than 45 minutes. Its just hangs in there and then gives us an ending anyone could have seen coming. Great performances aren't enough to recommend this.

"In the Bedroom" is about feeling, time and space.
It's one of my favourite films of all time.

If it were all in the script, why make the film?
