...and Joe Johnston has been announced to direct this!

I dunno about the general fan opinion, but I've enjoyed his movies. from Honey, I shrunk the kids to Jumanji and even JPIII. This movie is right up his alley, especially as he is so comfortable to work with CGI.

So, the big question, who for Captain America? With the way Marvel's been casting their actors, this will be definitely a well-established actor, and in the same age-bracket as Edward Norton and Robert Downey Jr. So who to play this ridiculous hero?

Paul Walker and Paul Walker only.

Looking at how ridiculous the choice of director is, this will be really campy (though probably a huge hit). Captain America was always everyone's least favourite hero anyway.

Hulk Hogan (yes, this movie is going to be stupid and absurd).

I can get behind Fizz nominating Paul Walker. It just makes sense.

Although, with Obama in the office and everything, do not be surprised if they cast someone like Will Smith as Captain America. That would make financial and 'artistic' sense to many in Hollywood.

Will Smith's already played his super hero card with "Hancock" and that flopped miserably. I just can't see him doing CA anyways. Call me racially conditioned but I dont think they should deviate from getting a blonde white dude for it. Paul walker makes a lot of sense to me too, and they should stick to that type of person if this movie plans to take itself seriously.

Honestly, I think this movie will do abysmally. Without superpowers other than a super inflated sense of patriotism - it's going to have to do a lot to be a big draw.

Apparently, Johnston wants to go retro, back to the WWII story.

Apparently Joe Johnston thinks turning this into Indian Jones Redux will make it interesting. The film will end during the 40's with Cap Frozen, and continue in the opening moments of Avengers the movie. This is going the Ultimates route, which is actually pretty good.
