Just finished the first season of this hilarious series from the guys who did Shaun of the Dead. With the running time only being 25 mins and 7 episodes in a season this is easily one of the shortest sitcoms and real easy to watch.

Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson both write and star in the crazy Brit comedy.

The premise is simple enough: Daisy (Jessica Stevenson) and Tim (Simon Pegg) are out of luck and love, so pretend to be a couple in order to rent a flat together.

The series is full of pop culture references. In fact, each episode is themed after at least one movie, with nods to The Shining, Aliens, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, etc proving especially hilarious.
The show has a unique style, being shot like a modern horror movie with fast zooms, jump cuts and disorientating edits. Fantasy sequences, slow-motion scenes, dreamy flashback and lots more.

I hear that the second season is even better, shall be watching soon and reporting here.

i can't decide which one is better the first or the second.both are just AWSOME.when you finish the show, make sure you watch the "Skip to the End" documentry.it's a MUST.not sure if it's available online though.

btw, Simon Pegg mentioned several times that he would like to come back and give the show a better ending.a 1-hour special maybe.but i dunno i think they should leave it alone.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

Just for the record, I didn't find "Shaun of the Dead" funny at all - the comedy showed at the seams - and I don't like Simon Pegg's shtick. Whenever I read something about "Hot Fuzz" I close my internet browser.

May be, when it comes to British humour I prefer it wry, twisted, more sophisticated (“Black Adder”). The crass comedy should have ended with the Monty Python.

Or may be I'm just a sad old man stuck in a 25-year-old’s body.

Try The League of Gentlemen AK. Wickedly hilarious! The David Lynch of sitcoms! One of the best TV shows Ive seen in a long time.

Well, Spaces & Shaun is more like 14 year old boys stuck in a 25-year-old's body. Its a generation of young, working people who haven't really fully grown out of their childish pleasures.

Thats why I loved it.
