Season 2 was okay, but 3 was awful.

That was season2 Kaytee not season1.

Season 2 was okay, but 3 was awful.

I strongly disagree with that. It might have been less interesting than the two previous powerful seasons, but it was still good.

What was so annoying about my answer? Dexter is a show I love and Mad reviewed it in one word and I only said I strongly disagree. Mine was even more elaborate. Mad, Shariqq, Kaytee, and everyone else is free to diss it, as much as I am free to defend it and disagree with them, respectfully of course!

Since my sound bite opinion was frowned upon by Fizz, I will try to elaborate what I like about the three seasons of Dexter:

Season 1: It is about Dexter fining his identity and making peace with himself by embracing his demons. It was also kind of episodic with an overarching seasonal story. It was a well done and powerful season. 4/5

Season 2: Dexter's survival. His meticulous way of hiding his tracks (no body, no crime) was exposed when his dumpsite was discovered. Plenty of bodies=The Bay Area Butcher. Now the search for him is hot, and with a crazy new girlfriend all over him and a hound dog detective closing on him, Dexter is faced with a dilemma: would he kill an innocent and break the Code to survive or would he let himself caught? The best season yet, only weakened by a poor wrap up. 4.5/5

Season 3: The domestication of Dexter, he is questioning the Code that his father gave him. May be he is normal family man, may be he can make a friend, may be he can take a protégée, and may be he can assimilate after all. Of course we discover with Dexter that the answer is no. I understand the reason why people would see this season as weak because it was different, but I think within the Dexter's saga, I think it is an interesting and important base to cover. 3/5

Finally, Dexter is an acquired taste and I understand why would people dislike it, but for someone like me who is a crime shows buff (I follow and love CSI, CSI NY, Bones, Criminal Minds, and always in the market for new or old good ones), to me Dexter is up there at the top of the heap.
