I will admit I was barely holding back tears during the Misty Mountains song. Welcome back to Middle Earth, folks. It's been a while.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I just wish work would end so I could get back home and watch this.

I got up early to watch this before I came to work today. I wouldn't have been able to wait until the end of the day to watch it with sound.

My excitement for the trailer also has to do with my enthusiasm for PJ's LotR, and hence not totally unbiased. It is still awesome! Smiley

Far over the Misty Mountains cold,
To dungeons deep and caverns old,
The pines were roaring on the heights,
The wind was moaning in the night,
The fire was red, it flaming spread,
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The same image re-formatted as a Poster as well as a banner/wallpaper has been released. I like the wide version better, makes sense in context of what the image shows.

I must say that with all the posters and the trailer put me in the mood for watching the trilogy and give the book a second read. I devoured it the first time after watching "The Return of The King" because I was in a LOTR withdrawal. I loved it then and I am sure I am gonna love it even more now. It is such a good book and it's an even easier read than the triology.

Same same. Gonna re-read The Hobbit (as soon as I am done with Madali's string of recommendations - should be mid/end Jan).

*sighs* i hate to be cynical but there's no way i'm gonna feel about these movies the same way i felt when i first saw the LOTR movies....i still remember the feeling when i watched The Fellowship Of The Ring in cinema, it's just an unexplainable.

and then going back to those movies every year with the extended editions DVDs...

i'll be the first one to watch these movies when they come out but i'm not ready for them and i kinda feel i had enough LOTR in the past i think they should've waited for at least one more decade.

i miss the LOTR movies and The Matrix sequels period those were the fucking days! i'm so proud to be part of that generation who grew up with these movies and i feel sorry for kids nowadays with franchises like Avatar poisoning our cinemas....

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

One decade? No, no. A decade later will be the "reboot"!

Looks like Peter Jackson has gained all his weight back. And production looks pretty crazy...

Edit: replaced web-link with Youtoob link. /shq

Haha! It appears so. Production does look crazy, but I bet everyone involved are giving it their best. It's not every day that you're part of such a prestigious and memorable production.

And yes, New Zealand IS Middle Earth. End of story. Visiting that country is definitely in my bucket list.
